Fees & Procedures

Private billing means patients will pay a fee for service. This includes an out of pocket, payment on top of any Medicare rebates.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL CONSULTATION FEES MUST BE PAID FOR IN FULL TO CLAIM BACK ANY REBATE

THE GAP PAYMENT ONLY CANNOT BE PAID

All appointments must be paid for by the patient at the time of visit. Payment can only be made by  EFTPOS or credit card.  WE NO LONGER ACCEPT CASH

A Medicare rebate is available for most privately charged consultations if you hold a valid Medicare Card. The full Medicare amount including gap amount is payable on the day. Please bring with you a physical savings or cheque EFTPOS card so we can reimburse your Medicare fee on the day. Medicare rebates CANNOT be paid back to credit cards accounts.

However, rebate from Medicare is subjected to Medicare Ruling. Rebates can take 1-2 business days to appear in your nominated bank account. Please ensure your bank details are updated on mygov.com.au to avoid any delays in receiving rebates.

We will continue to offer bulk billing services for:

• Children under 16
• Pensioners, Health Care Card Holders & DVA card holders
• COVID-19 vaccinations, childhood immunisations and annual flu vaccinations. Flu vaccines are charged for patients not eligible for the government vaccination programme
• Health Assessments and Care Plans ** appointments unrelated to Health Assessments or Care Plans will incur a fee

Weekends / Public Holidays

The Doctors of Plympton Park Day Night Surgery pride themselves on providing high quality health services and medical access to our communities. With rising operational costs, the introduction of private fees, although difficult, is necessary to allow the doctors to continue providing this service.

Ongoing support from the community is of great appreciation. As always, the practice has a zero-tolerance policy towards abuse and aggression. Please treat our staff and doctors with respect and courtesy. Your continued patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Non Medicare Patients

Patients will be charged the full rate ($35 + consult fee applicable) and provided an itemised receipt for claiming if they have insurance. Please speak with your insurance for further details. We do not offer billing for insurance for non-Medicare patients.
